ACNS Computer and Peripheral Contract Services
The ACNS Computer and Peripheral Contract Services Center installs, maintains, and repairs Windows-based PCs, laser printers, Sun workstations, terminals, modems, and network connections.
Certified technicians can make on-site repairs in departmental offices, or you can make an appointment to bring your equipment to the ACNS Contract Services Center. Requesting Service
If your computer needs service, contact the ACNS Computer and Peripheral Contract Services Center at 491-7443. An operator will take your name and phone number, and a technician will return your call to schedule a date and time to repair your system.
Your equipment can be picked up at your office, or you can bring it to the Weber building room 8. Because the technicians are frequently out on service calls, you should call 491-1079 to make an appointment before bringing your equipment to the Contract Services Center. If the technicians are not in, you can leave a message on the answering machine, and your call will be returned promptly.
You can pay for repairs on a time-and-materials basis, or you can enter into an annual maintenance contract. Charges can be made directly to the user's fund number to lessen the amount of paperwork and cut down on overhead expenses.
Maintenance Contracts
If you are concerned about repair costs, ACNS offers monthly maintenance contracts for PCs, SUN workstations, and laser printers. By paying an annual fee, you receive factory-trained service, labor, and repair parts for your equipment. Call the ACNS Computer and Peripheral Contract Services Center, 491-1079, for details.
Special Requests
If you need special service because of unusual circumstances, such as maintenance during a conference or training session, you should contact the ACNS Computer and Peripheral Contract Services Center at 491-7443. Your request will be directed to the appropriate manager or supervisor.Warranty Work
ACNS technicians are not authorized to do repair work during warranty on any equipment. If your PC malfunctions during the warranty period, you should call the dealer from whom you purchased the equipment. Your personal computer usually comes with a telephone number to call during the warranty period. When you call, be prepared to supply the type of equipment, serial number, and date of purchase.
