How often does CTSS offer training courses?

A new series of CTSS workshops is scheduled five times a year — twice each semester and once in the summer. Schedules are e-mailed to all faculty and staff at the end of August, October, January, March and early June and are accessible through the CTSS Web page as soon as they are published.

How do I register for CTSS training courses?

Visit our registration page to see the workshops offered. All classes offered through CTSS can be viewed by clicking on the View Schedule link. All workshops, unless otherwise noted, require pre-registration and are free of charge to all CSU faculty and staff. Please note that you must have an active CSU electronic identity (eID) before you may register. For additional information about your eID or to register, click on Login. up

What is an eID and why do I need an eID to register for CTSS courses?

Your CSU eID serves as a single, uniform electronic identity to authenticate yourself and authorize individualized electronic services (e-services). Many e-services at Colorado State can only be accessed using a CSU eID. E-services available through your eID include the modem pool, e-mail accounts on central servers, WebCT, campus-wide calendar accounts, RamMail, and Computer Training and Support Services workshops. up

Can I get copies of the class handouts?

Yes. CTSS Training Handouts are now available electronically for CSU students, faculty and staff on several applications. Access the CTSS training handouts using your eID. up

What computing class would you recommend to someone new to computing?

If you are new to computing then we recommend that you start with the Windows 2000 Basics: Using Your Computer workshop. This workshop will focus on familiarizing you with basic Windows procedures including finding and launching programs, understanding directory structures, use of common file management techniques, and customizing your desktop. up

Can CTSS help me with my a file or program?

CTSS staff members are available for limited consulting and troubleshooting on software. While CTSS staff are available for consulting, limited resources prevent us from developing applications, assisting with programming, or other similar issues. For example, CTSS will help if you are having trouble printing a spreadsheet, but will not actually develop your spreadsheet. up
